
Various t-shirts, bags, accessories posied “Eurovision Song Contest-Baku 2012” were offered for sale mainly in capital Baku after Azerbaijan’s victory in “Eurovision-2011” Song Contest. This type of sale is illegal in Azerbaijan.
These T-shirts prepared in every winner country are offered for sale only after informing the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). But this step was taken without informing the EBU, and this case worried the organizers.
These T-shirts, which also depicts the flag of Azerbaijan, are made in China and Turkey, and are offered for sale at lower prices, and the people, not paying attention to it, gives preference to defective products.
As we know, this kind of sale can be realized only on the basis of EBU’s license.
This type of sale without license is an unpleasant fact. It was also known that EBU’s member Public TV and Radio is investigating the issue’s root. EBU leadership is also interested in this issue.
The official statement will be issued on this issue in the next few days. Probably, such illegal sale will be banned and this type of things will be offered for sale by corresponding organization after EBU’s license.
Such t-shirts, caps, bags, trinkets, pens, scarves and the other things will be offered for sale on the eve of Eurovision-2012 Song Contest in Baku. Such a system is carried out annually in the winner country. The T-shirts, legally offered for sale, cost 17-25 Euros. But the above mentioned illegal T-shirts are presented to the population for AZN 5-10.
