Azerbaijan, Czech Republic discuss cultural cooperation

Director of the Czech National Library Tomas Bohm yesterday visited the Alley of Honors to put flowers at the tomb of national leader Heydar Aliyev as part of his visit to Azerbaijan.
Bem also put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
“Roundtable” with participation of the Czech representative was held at the Azerbaijan National Library named after M.F.Akhundov.

Speaking at the event, director of Azerbaijan National Library Kerim Tahirov noted the significance of cultural relations between the two countries including in the library sphere. Tahirov expressed his intention to cooperate with various countries` libraries. The sides also discussed the signing of memorandum on cooperation in the future.

Director of the Czech National Library described his visit to Azerbaijan as an “historical” event to build cooperative ties in relevant sphere. “This cooperation will be useful for both sides,” he added.

The meeting saw discussions on preparation of electronic versions of book, relations between the libraries. Books in Czech were put on display in the exhibition held at the Azerbaijan National Library.
