
Russian Federal Security Service’s Border Office in Dagestan detained an Azerbaijan-owned vessel on the Caspian Sea, RIA-Dagestan news agency reported.
During the examination it was determined that the vessel didn’t have a national flag, certain national signs and documents. The Azerbaijani side was informed about the incident.
About 700 kg sturgeon, 1500 hooks, “Kallada” trap was found in the ship during the examination. The vessel was brought to Makhachkala sea port for the investigation.
The report also says that in 2010, Border Office in Dagestan examined 4 vessels, which were navigating on the Caspian Sea under flag of Azerbaijan. 1.500 kg white fishes and fishing equipments were seized in “Dalga” vessel, 8 kg black caviar, 2000 kg sturgeons and fishing equipments were seized in “Khazar” vessel. 3000 kg sturgeon and fishing equipment were seized in “Tufan” vessel.
