The Caucasian Muslim Board finished the admission of documents for Hajj pilgrimage in 2011. Spokesman for the Caucasian Muslim Board (CMB) Rahima Dadashova said.
She said quota for 2000 pilgrims was filled.
CMB, which leads Azerbaijan Hajj pilgrimage, organizes visits to Mecca and Medina within the Hajj pilgrimage in accordance with the protocol signed with Saudi Arabia’s Hajj Ministry.
2000 pilgrims will leave for holy places by bus and plane according to Hajj pilgrimage quota considered for Azerbaijan in 2011. Pilgrimage travels by bus will cost AZN 2650 (AZN 2500 last year), by plane - AZN 3750 (AZN 3500 last year). It includes transport, hotel, visa and landing fees, as well as tent rent.
One of the novelties is that the route for the Azerbaijani pilgrims traveling by bus was changed because of unrests in Syria. The pilgrims, who previously were arriving in Saudi Arabia from Iraq, will travel on Azerbaijan-Iran-Iraq-Saudi Arabia route. Pilgrims will have a chance to visit the other holy places. Thus, on the way to Mecca, the pilgrims will visit holy places in Iraq, including Kerbela.
