World Azerbaijanis Congress attepts to hold rally outside Iranian embassy in Baku

The World Azerbaijanis Congress (WAC) attempted on Thursday to hold a rally in front of the the Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan.

Participants voiced slogans demanding to protect the Urmia Lake in Iran from drying, as well as to merge North and South Azerbaijan. Then the WAC members read a statement, which was submitted to the embassy.

Police initially forced the protesters back to nearby streets, and then dispersed them, as the action was unauthorized.
