Baku to host conference on theme “Thor Heyerdahl and Azerbaijan”

The Azerbaijan University of Languages in collaboration with Norway`s University of Oslo will organize a conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Norwegian ethnographer and adventurer Thor Heyerdahl`s first Azerbaijan expedition. The conference on theme “Thor Heyerdahl and Azerbaijan” will take place in Baku to mark the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Azerbaijan`s independence and 200th birthday of the University of Oslo.

The conference to run in Azerbaijani and English languages will focus on the following themes: “Thor Heyerdahl`s Azerbaijan expeditions”, “The role of Thor Heyerdahl in establishing good relations between two countries” and “Thor Heyerdahl`s theories about Azerbaijan and the whole region and their importance from a historical and theoretical standpoints”. Theses should be submitted before September 10 and articles will be accepted before September 30.
