Azerbaijani Dance Workshop to be held in California

An intensive 3-hour workshop of Azerbaijani and Persian Gulf dancing will be presented to the American people in San Jose, California, on September 18.

Students will be introduced to dance techniques, routines, art, culture, and historical background of these dances and people. From Azerbaijan, Farima will introduce the Nalbeki (saucer dance) and Banovsha (flower dance).

For the Nalbeki dance, students are requested to bring two small saucers and two thimbles.

Journey with Farima to the Persian Gulf will be introduced by a blend of high-energy dance and music known as Bandari. Dances of the Balouchi people will also be included.

The session will be held at Halanda Dance Studio in San Jose.
