Azeri education minister meets president of Administration of European Youth Card Association

Azerbaijan`s Minister of Education Misir Mardanov has met with president of the Administration of European Youth Card Association Jarkko Lehikoinen. Lehikoinen said that this is his first official visit after taking his post. He highlighted the Administration of Association`s activity, which is headquartered in Slovakia`s capital Bratislava.

The administration signed an agreement with the Council of Europe (CoE) to increase the youth card usage in 1991 and the European Commission began to support the process from 1995.
Lehikoinen underlined about 40 European countries joined to European Youth Card process and more than 4 billion youth across the world are the users of the card.

He said that application of Youth Card in Azerbaijan was discussed in the Ministry of Youth and Sport. Lehikoinen asked Mardanov to support the application of cards in Azerbaijani higher schools. Mardanov noted the necessity of joining the process supported by CoE and the European Commission, stressing Azerbaijan`s integration into European education system.
