One drowned, two rescued in Upper Shirvan channel of Azerbaijan’s Goychay region

A 15-year-old resident of Azerbaijan’s Goychay region Kamran Rustamov drowned while swimming in Upper Shirvan channel.

His father Elnur Rustamov, 35, and brother Rustam Rustamov, 13, were rescued by the villagers. Kamran’s body has not been found yet. Searches are continued throughout the channel. 13-year-old Rustam was hospitalized. His father Elnur was released from the hospital after receiving first medical aid.

The incident occurred because of carelessness and lack of swimming skills of the three. Law-enforcement officials are investigating the incident.
