Commission member: Azerbaijan has little advertising on state language

The national language is protected at the state level in Azerbaijan. The issue of the national language in terms of law and its development is reflected in the law "State language", member of the state commission on the language, department head of the Linguistics Institute of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences Ismail Mammadov told Trend.

He said that the law "State language" was approved by decree of ex-Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev on September 30, 2002. According to the presidential decree on August 9, 2001, August 1 is celebrated as the Day of Azerbaijani alphabet and Azerbaijani language.

Today the official language is used in various fields at a high level, including the service sector, the media, he said.

There are cases of violating the state language, Mammadov said.

He said that loan words are used in advertising. There is very little advertising in the Azerbaijani language.
