Military Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan holds board meeting on results of first half of 2011

The Military Prosecutor’s Office of the republic of Azerbaijan held a board meeting to discuss the work done in the first half of 2011 in the field of crime control, strengthening the rule of law, protection of human rights and freedoms and the duties ahead.

Press service of the military prosecutor’s office said deputy general prosecutor and military prosecutor of Azerbaijan Khanlar Veliyev noted that in comparison with the previous reporting period, the crimes against attachment rules, self-willed leaving the military units, violation of rules for driving and using the vehicles, suicide, careless attitude to the service and crimes against the property were reduced.

There were no facts of self-wiled leaving the military units during the battles or in combat conditions. 98.8% of the crimes were cleaned. The military prosecutor’s office established healthy and working cooperation with the Defense Ministry, State Border Service, Internal Troops and other organizations for prevention and reduction of the crimes. A series of joint measures were taken. But non-service crimes increased in this period.

The Defense Ministry and other organizations elaborated the plan of joint measures for prevention of the crimes in the armed forces. The work toward the implementation of these measures is continued.
