180 prisoners per 100 000 people in Azerbaijan

There are 180 prisoners per 100 000 people in Azerbaijan, chairman of the Public Union “Observation of Detention Places” Kamil Salimov said.

He said there are 360 prisoners per 100 000 people in Georgia, 720 prisoners per 100 000 people in Russia, 60-70 prisoners per 100 000 in the European countries.

Salimov added that the prisoners need legal aid in Azerbaijan.
