“The judges, whom the persons appeal to for the restoration of their violated rights, must know the European Convention on Human Rights better,” chairman of Azerbaijan’s Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev told journalists.
Farhad Abdullayev said the judges must know the European Convention on Human Rights. Noting that Azerbaijan accepted the convention in 2001, Farhad Abdullayev said with this Azerbaijan accepted the European values.
“The norms of the international law prevail in the national legislation. It means that Azerbaijan accepts the European values and we can not avoid this. Everyone in Azerbaijan must know the issues arising from this convention, must be guided by them in slife and activity. It especially concerns courts,” he said.
