Azerbaijan says economically active population reaches 4.6 mln

As of July 1, 2011, Azerbaijan’s economically active population reached 4,593.4 mln, of which 4,338.2 thousand are employed in different spheres of economy and social sectors, said the State Statistical Committee.

SSC says the list number of the hired workers was 1,362.1 thousands including average list number was 1,348.1 thousands which 852.7 thousand were in state sector, 495.4 thousand in non-state sector. At the same time, 36,5 thousand persons were in oil sector, 1,311.6 thousand in non-oil sector, 1,309.6 thousand in no-agriculture sector.

Employment agencies listed 40.1 thousand people as jobless, of which 43% were women.
