ARMENIANS KILL LITTLE GIRL, INJURE MOTHER IN TOVUZ REGION

A blast of an explosive device in the Alibayli village of Tovuz region of Azerbaijan bordering Armenia killed 13-year-old girl Shahmaliyeva Aygun and severe wounded her mother Shahmaliyeva Elnare.

Shahmaliyeva Aygun Ziraddin gizi and Jafarov Elsever Hasan oglu found a toy with a hidden device thrown by Armenians into the Tovuz River flowing through the village. They brought the toy to the Jafarov Hasan`s home where it blew up when Aygun banged it on the table.

The Shahmaliyevs live in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The family came here to visit their relatives. The local prosecutor`s office has launched an investigation.

The similar accident occurred here in 1994 when two kids were killed and one wounded as a result of an explosion of a toy dropped by Armenian side into the river.
