Rules for admission to higher schools may be changed in Azerbaijan

01 July 2011 [15:42] - TODAY.AZ
“There will be no privileges in the entrance exams for the school leavers awarded with gold and silver medals this year. There is no word of privilege in the “Law on Education” of Azerbaijan,” chairperson of State Student Admission Commission Maleyka Abbaszadeh said at the press conference.

She said the SSAC may change the rules for admission to higher schools if the mechanism of awarding with medals, Education Ministry’s criteria of assessment work well, the school leavers’ marks reflect their real knowledge.

“In this case the achievements of not only medalists, but of all entrants at school will be taken into account during the admission to higher schools. We are working towards this,” she said.
