Azerbaijani State Social Protection Fund expects to enhance powers

The State Social Protection Fund has prepared a package of proposals on amendments to the law on social insurance, SSPF Chairman Salim Muslimov told journalists on Tuesday.

"The report that we get from companies indicate information only about the number of employees, their salaries and the amount of bonus for social insurance," Muslimov said.

He said the fund has no powers to verify how many people are actually working for the company.

"We have no information how much work is carried out by the company and how many employees are employed there in fact. So this year we again want to put forward proposals to amend the legislation to obtain powers to conduct audits of companies to obtain the necessary documents that will allows us to learn whether the company evades transfers to the SSPF or not," Muslimov added.

The State Social Protection Fund appealed to the government with a similar proposal last year.
