Fire in Goychay municipality building

A fire blazed up at the municipality building in Potu village of Azerbaijan’s Goychay region at about 10.30 on Saturday.

A library, culture center and private apartment are located in the building besides the municipality.

Three firefighting vehicles with 25 crew members were sent to the site. The fire was extinguished at about 13.00.

680-sq-m tow-storey administrative building was seriously damaged as a result of fire. Roof of the building, inventories, books and documents of the municipality and library were burned. According to the preliminary version, short circuit in the private apartment owned by Isgandarov Arif caused the fire.

A part of the building was privatized five years ago and sold to Isgandarov.

The investigation is underway.
