Human Rights Commissioner appeals to Ramil Usubov concerning physical assault of citizens of US and UK in Baku

Human Rights Commissioner Elmira Suleymanova appealed to Interior Minister Ramil Usubov concerning American journalist Amanda Ericsson and human rights defender from the UK Silvia Davis, who underwent physical assault by unidentified persons in Yasamal district of Baku, press service of the Human Rights Commissioner said.

Human Rights Commissioner asked Minister to control the case, bring the offenders to account and give information about the results.

US citizen Amanda Ericsson and UK citizen Silvia Davis underwent physical assault by unidentified persons in Yasamal district of Baku on June 15. Amanda Ericsson appealed to the police office saying that they had undergone physical assault. The fact is being investigated.

Amanda Ericsson is also collaborating with the Washington Post and the New York Times.
