
Azerbaijan's Interior Ministry has issued an official statement over beating of female citizens of UK and U.S in Baku.
Baku's Yasamal District Police Department received information that on the night from 15 to 16 June, about 00:20 on Vidadi street four unknown persons beat two women - citizen of Great Britain Celia Davies and U.S. national Amanda Erickson, the press-service of Interior Ministry said.
In this regard, on the same day the investigative division of the Department filed a case on charges of hooliganism committed by a group of persons. The victims were interviewed, sketch of the criminals were drawn and forensic examination was ordered, says the statement.
In order to solve the crime and reveal and detain its performers an investigative team was set up of experienced members of Interior Ministry and Chief Police Department of Baku; intensive activities are conducted, according to the statement.
The case is controlled by the Interior Ministry leadership.
