Serious shortcomings revealed in connection with construction and urban planning in 11 cities and regions of Azerbaijan

A board meeting was held at the State Construction and Architecture Committee.

The meeting was devoted to fulfillment of President’s decree on “Strengthening of state control in construction sector in the Republic of Azerbaijan”. The result of the researches conducted in 13 cities and regions of the republic in 2009-2010 and the measures related to it were discussed at the meeting.

The meeting was attended by the principal architects of 13 cities and regions. At the meeting it was noted that in 2009-2010, in 11 cities and regions (Absheron, Khachmaz, Guba, Gobustan, Siyazan, Khizi, Sheki, Oguz, Shamkir Masalli Shamakhi), excluding the Hussar and Shabran, the shortcomings have not been eliminated yet. Whereas, the committee appealed again in connection with the elimination of these shortcomings.

As a result of inspections it was revealed that the shortcomings were especially the building without permission, no building passports and other violations.

The biggest violation was identified in Sheki and Shamakhi regions. Violations in all cities and regions took place as a result of not taking timely preventive measures by local services of architecture.

Appropriate decision on elimination of the shortcomings was passed at the end of the board meeting.
