Azerbaijan's capital fell by 19 stages in rating of most expensive cities - LIST

ECA International Organization has determined that list of world’s most expensive cities. According to organization’s site, the price rise was not observed in Baku during 2011, compared to 2010.

According to last year’s results, the world’s 30th expensive city Baku has ranked 49th in 2011. Tokyo is the most expensive city of the world, again. Oslo ranked second, Nagoya – third, Stavanger – fourth, Yokohama – fifth.

The food prices rose 5.2% in Sydney, which ranked among the 20 most expensive countries. Australian dollar was strengthened and this influenced the prices of apartments.

9.7% growth was observed in Papua New Guinea, 7% in Bangladesh, 6.2% in Vietnam, 5.8% in Indonesia, 5.5% in Hong Kong. Price fall was observed in Hanoi, Karachi cities. Ranked 42nd Karachi is considered as the cheapest place in the world.

Moscow and St. Petersburg ranked 14th and 38th.

Oslo was the first most expensive city of Europe, second of world.

The most expensive city of America is Caracas. Next cities are Rio-de-Janeiro and San-Paolo. IN North America, the most expensive cities are Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto and Manhattan.

The most expensive city of Africa is Luanda. Next cities are Libreville and Kinshasa. Note that, Africa has the cheapest capitals. Maseru, Alexandria, Durban are the world’s cheapest cities. Most expensive city of Near East is Tel-Aviv. Tel-Aviv ranked 29th.

ECA has taken prices of foods, drinks, cigarettes, clothes, technique, living houses and community services into consideration during the preparing of table.
