"The duration of temporary stay on the territory of Azerbaijan for foreigners, who came on the visa-free basis, can't exceed 90 days. Within 3 days, a foreign citizen should apply to the Passport and Registration Department of the Interior Ministry", director of human rights center of Azerbaijani migrants Alovsat Aliyev said.

"Following documents should be submitted to the department: a copy of passport, ID copy of apartment owner, a written statement of owner's consent for the temporary registration in his or her apartment, certified copies of the order and extracts from the State Property Registration Service", Aliyev added.

According to Aliyev, the length of stay for foreigners, who arrived on the visa basis, is defined upon the period specified in the visa.

"The amount of the state fee for the documental authorization of the temporary stay is 10 AZN. If a foreigner wants to extend the term, then he or she should appeal to the State Migration Service not less than seven business days before the stay expires. The state duty for the extension of temporary stay in Azerbaijan up to 1 month is 30 manat, with 1 to 2 months - 60 manat, with 2 to 3 months - 90 AZN ", he said.

Aliyev stressed that if a foreigner avoids registration, he is fined with 301 manat.
