Azerbaijani-Latvian business forum on environmental protection to be held

Azerbaijani-Latvian business forum on "green" economy, dedicated to environmental recovery, will begin in Baku on June 6, the Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry spokesperson Irada Ibrahimova said.

The forum will discuss further cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia in the sphere of environmental protection and application of new technologies in Azerbaijan as part of the transition to a "green" economy.

The forum will be attended by the Latvian Environmental Protection and Regional Development Minister, as well as by representatives of both countries’ companies which are operating in the field of environmental protection.

The event will provide a common ground for the companies to exchange their experiences.

During Vejonis’s June 2009 visit to Baku, an agreement was signed on environmental protection cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Latvian governments.
