18th session of UNESCO’s International Bioethics Committee held in Baku wraps up

The 18th session of UNESCO’s International Bioethics Committee has finished its work.

Stefano Semplici was elected a new chairman of the committee within the session. In her keynote speech, First Secretary of the National Commission of Azerbaijan for UNESCO Gunay Efendiyeva expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan’s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova for their attention to this event.

The committee’s new chairman Stefano Semplici underlined the necessity of settlement of the issues mentioned in the session. The issues of human cloning, traditional medicine and ethic aspects of the bioethics were discussed at the session.
