History Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences prepares new book on Azerbaijan's history

History Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences is preparing a new book on the history of Azerbaijan, director of the institute Yagub Mahmudov told journalists.

He said that there is a great need to prepare book on Azerbaijan’s history afresh.

"Three-volume and seven-volume "Azerbaijan’s history" contain a number of shortcomings, very serious faults concerning the condition of science at that time. Azerbaijan’s history does not cover the history of Irevan, Derbent, the history of Borchali, South Azerbaijan was not studied properly. The history of some of our states was not assessed properly. Therefore, Presidential Administration gave instructions to prepare a new three-volume book on Azerbaijan’s history. A concept has already been prepared concerning it, the preparation of the volumes will start within the next five or six months," he said.
