State committee chairman: Totally 800 IDPs to be resettled from dormitories of Baku State University at first stage

Construction of new houses for 210 IDP families, consisting of 800 persons who live at two of the seven dormitories of Baku State University (BSU), will begin in Masazir settlement of Absheron district, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs of Azerbaijan Ali Hasanov said in an interview with the "Azerbaijan" newspaper.

Four five-story residential buildings, each with 55 apartments, will be built for these persons in Masazir, said Hasanov.

A total of 12 hectares of land have been allocated in Masazir to build homes for 758 IDP families, who temporarily live at seven dormitories of BSU.

At present, preparatory work on the project is conducted.

Hasanov said the construction of a new settlement for 552 IDP families, consisting of 2,484 persons who reside settlement of the Finnish type in Agjabedi district, is at the stage of completion.

Nine five-storey houses for 524 IDPs families, consisting of 2,358 people living in the sanatoria in Naphthalan district, are built in the Geranboy district. Construction of the five-storey buildings, with 80 apartments each, has started in Ramana settlement of Sabunchi district for 80 displaced families, who live in an unfinished building owned by the machine-building plant named after Sattarkhan, located in the Narimanov district of Baku.

There are plans to complete construction of these buildings during the year.

Hasanov said the construction of ten nine-storey residential buildings, including schools for 360 seats, kindergarten for 50 seats, administrative building and club for 502 displaced families, consisting of 2,006 people temporarily living in the settlement of Finnish type and at school buildings in Mingachevir city, will begin from June.

Hasanov added that a land plot of 22 hectares have been allocated in Garadagh district for the construction of a new quarter for the 1,410 displaced families living at buildings owned by military units of the Defense Ministry.
