Azerbaijan attends state theatres directors' meeting in Turkey

Azerbaijan was presented at the state theaters directors'meeting of TURKSOY (international organization of Turkish peoples sharing common language and culture) in Antalya, Turkey.
A two-day meeting brought together directors of state theatres from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, North Cyprus, Tatarstan, Bashgirdstan and Khakassia autonomous republics of Russian Federation.

The discussions focused on strengthening of cooperation, exchange of producers, actors/ actress and technical staff.

A decision on establishment of state theaters directors' council of TURKSOY was adopted at the meeting. Director of the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theatre Israfil Israfilov was elected the first chairman of the council. Israfil Israfilov will lead the international theater festival dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Mirza Fatali Akhundzade (founder of modern literary criticism in Azerbaijan) in Baku next year. A meeting of the state theaters directors` council of TURKSOY will be also held in Azerbaijani capital.
