Azerbaijan’s parliament discusses amendments in law on "Labour Pensions"

Amendments in law on "Labour Pensions" are made in Azerbaijan. This issue was discussed at the meeting of parliament’s committees on Social Policy and Legal policy and state system establishment.

Chairman of State Social Protection Fund Salim Muslumov and representatives of Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population attended the meeting.

According to Hadi Rajabli, the Chairman of Milli Majlis Commission on Social Policy, there were serious difference between the persons retired on a pension by 2006, January 1, and the persons retired on a pension after 2006: "The amendments will eliminate these difference".

S. Muslumov noted that, 845,000 persons’ pensions will be increased: "For this purpose, AZN 390 mln is required. If the growth is conducted in July, the AZN 195 mln will be allocated from budget".

The pensions of persons retired by January 1, 2010, will be increased by 40%. The amendments project was recommended to the plenary meeting of Milli Majlis.
