"There are many complaints about courts in Azerbaijan, it is not a secret", Azerbaijani Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) Elmira Suleymanova told journalists.
She also clarified the issue on why the employees of the Ombudsman Office don’t present at the judicial trial: "It is impossible to prove anybody, why I participated in such person’s process, but had not participated in your process. That’s why these issues must be balanced. But along with it, we can not say that we don’t work with the courts. According to the law, if the procrastination is allowed, if there any complaints on the decisions, we certainly appeal and ask to investigate the situation, and adopt the fair law within law. It is ombudsman’s task. If someone expects that we will implement the obligations of court, police or other agencies – it is wrong".
