Azerbaijani ruling party executive secretary: Youth must actively participate in Azerbaijan's modernization

The Azerbaijani youth must actively participate in the modernization of our country, deputy chairman, executive secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party Ali Akhmedov said at a conference on "Azerbaijani Youth and Modernity", organized by the youth association of the New Azerbaijan Party for the party activists in Naftalan.

He said that the Azerbaijani youth actively supports the ongoing policy of President Aliyev. The ranks of supporters of this policy increase every year.

The world views of the party leadership and youth differ in a positive way, he said.
He said that it is impossible to modernize Azerbaijan and the future of modern Azerbaijan, without sensible young people.

"The ruling party's position is that the Azerbaijani youth actively participated in the modernization of the country," he said. "Our young people have rich knowledge and modern world view. These and other factors show that youth is a great force in the development of Azerbaijan. Our government and our party follow the way of using this force, effective use of this factor for development of Azerbaijan".

Strengthening of stability, peace and prosperity is the duty of every Azerbaijani, especially the youth representative, he said. "As the future of Azerbaijan is connected with youth, it must be interested in preserving the stability, peace and prosperity for Azerbaijan to develop more dynamically on the basis of all this and the state, ensuring the high welfare for the younger generation to be created," he said.

Akhmedov regretted that the radical wing of the opposition parties, fulfilling the order of the forces that dislike the development of the country, has gathered a small part of the Azerbaijani youth.

"These forces are trying to use youth for their own purposes," he said. "But sensible young people must struggle to force them to abandon the wrong way".

Azerbaijan will continue developing, he said. He added that the current youth must be ready to govern the country in the future. It is necessary to maintain the current stability to lead Azerbaijan into the future, he said.

"The ways of implementing the planned policy must maximally correspond to the thoughts and world view of youth," Akhmedov said.

Akhmedov said that the State Program for Development of Azerbaijani Youth for 2011-2015 is under development upon President Aliyev's order.

The program will include the main objectives, taking into account the interests of youth development and the challenges ensuring this development. Adopting and implementing of this program will be a powerful impetus to the development of the Azerbaijani youth, he said.

Deputy Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party, MP Mubariz Gurbanli, Deputy Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, a board member of the ruling party Bahar Muradova, MPs - members of the Political Council of the ruling party Malahat Ibrahimgizi, Asaf Hajiyev, Elmar Gasimov and others attended the conference.
