State Border Service issues information on murdering of trespasser on Azerbaijan-Iran border

The State Border Service (SBS) issued information on the incident involving the use of arms occurred on Azerbaijan-Iran border.

The SBS reported that the unknown person attempted to cross border illegally in Azerbaijan’s Yardimli region bordering with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The trespasser neglected the "Stop!" command given by the Azerbaijani border-guards. The border-guards had to open fire to him. The trespasser died as a result of bullet wound.

The personality of the trespasser was identified as a result of investigation. It was known that he is resident of Yardimli region Jafar Jafarov.

SBS also reported that Jafarov had been detained before for 3 times for attempting the trespass of Azerbaijan-Iran border, the necessary measures were taken regarding him.

The investigation is underway on the fact.
