One of Azerbaijani cities maybe included into Intercultural cities project of CoE

One of Azerbaijani cities maybe included into Intercultural cities project of the CoE, Director of Culture and Cultural and Natural Heritage of the Council of Europe Robert Palmer said.

He said that at present, the Council of Europe cooperated with Azerbaijan on 3 projects in cultural sphere, as well as within framework of the joint project of the CoE and EU "Intercultural cities", which started fulfillment 2 years ago. Palmer noted that Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism organized visits to some cities of Azerbaijan. The guest said that Intercultural cities project had been directed to cities where national minorities live: "The ministry has organized visits to different cities of Azerbaijan for selection of the cities as an example for joint living of little communities, minorities".

Palmer reminded that Azerbaijan took part in "Actors for the sake of dialogue" project directed to development of dialogue in cultural sphere between the countries of the CoE. To him, such dialogue may impact on regulation of the conflicts.

Another cooperation sphere is a program on reconsidering of culture program and on culture policy. Palmer said that the purpose of the program was to correspond it to the world and realism. Next meeting related to this program will be held next week in Luxemburg.
