Azerbaijanis arrested in Iranian protest actions

Iranian police arrested a number of Azerbaijanis during the protest actions demanding prevention of droughty of Urmia Lake in Iran.

The protest actions were held in the gardens near Urmia Lake, near the Aci Chay bridge and in the town of Goshachay, South Azerbaijan National Revival Movement’s representation in the Republic of Azerbaijan reported.

Police cleared away the protesters. More than 100 people were arrested, some of them were released later. About 50 people were injured during the incident, four were injured seriously.

The protesters chanted "Urmu Lake is without water", "Break dams and give water to Urmu", "Long live, Azerbaijan" and etc.
