Azerbaijani parliament to discuss appointing new members to Broadcasting Council

The Azerbaijani parliament will consider the appointment of new members to the Public TV and Radio Broadcasting Council on March 18, parliamentary spokesman Akif Tavakkuloglu told Trend.

The members' six-year term ended on March 15 in accordance with the law on broadcasting.

Three of the nine members - Namik Mammadov, Fuad Muradov and Zarifa Salakhova - were appointed only in April 2009.

A series of other laws will also be reviewed at a parliamentary session tomorrow.
