
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes revealed 13 facilities offering illegal bookmaker activity in Baku, the ministry said.
Maximum, Cayxana and Karo in Yasamal district, Cempion in Nizami, Qalatasaray, Zenit, Barselona, Liverpul, Real Madrid, Qol Qol Barselona in Nasimi district are among these facilities. People transfer money by making predictions for football match results at these facilities before football matches.
"These facilities operate as a cafe and teahouses, without obtaining a special permission. They organize additional illegal bookmaker activity," a message said. It was revealed that employees were involved in this activity without labor contracts. The managers of these facilities concealed the income from taxation."
The Ministry seized seven notebooks, nine processors, documents of black accounting, cash, stamps and seals of various companies, and thousands of payment receipts given to citizens.
It was established that the owner of the Bavaria cafe, operating in Bakikhanov settlement concealed more 1.752.846 manat from taxes.
According to the order No 245 of the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers on December 29, 2010, the organizers of casino and sports games and their agents (sellers) will pay taxes. As the tax code limits the income tax rate by 20% of income, the actual income tax rate hits 6 percent of the income while determining the income at 30 percent of the income of gaming participants.
The amount of the income tax, paid by an agent, hits 4%. These operators and agents are exempt from VAT.
