US ambassador met Azerbaijani business women for International Women Day

Ambassador of the United States to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza and his spouse Zeyno Baran hosted a reception on the occasion of the International Women's Day. A group of Azerbaijani business women attended the reception. Before the meeting, Mrs. Baran told journalists gender equality was very important for the development. She expressed hope the 21st century would be women's era.

Ambassador Bryza said both he and his wife recognize the importance of women's empowerment. The diplomat praised the women as role models for younger generations of Azerbaijani women.

He called upon them to act as mentors and support other women to consolidate and expand upon their generation`s success, not just in business, but in all sectors.
