Criminal case launched on 10 servicemen engaged in reconnaissance – activity in Azerbaijan

Last year, criminal case was launched on 10 servicemen engaged in reconnaissance activity in Azerbaijan, it was noted in the report-2010 of Azerbaijani government submitted to the Parliament.

The section on national security in the report notes that as a result of counterintelligence and operational search actions carried out in direction of struggle against provocation and other destructive activities of foreign intelligence agencies against Azerbaijan, as well as its Armed Forces, a criminal case under the article of "Betrayal to the state" of the Criminal Code has been launched on 10 servicemen engaged in reconnaissance –agential activity in Azerbaijan under the order of foreign intelligence agencies.

Four of them have been imprisoned under the different verdicts of the court, investigation is underway on the criminal case on 6 persons.
