Terminology Commission: Every 10th name in Azerbaijan does not meet standards

The Terminology Commission of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) has prepared a new list of names and submitted them to the Justice Ministry, Deputy Commission Chairman Sayali Sadigova told Trend.

Sadigova said the commission has examined more than 180,000 names registered by the Justice Ministry and about 18,000 were not included in the newly submitted list.

The names that were not included in the list do not comply with the Azerbaijani language, “sound unethical and funny.”

After receiving the confirmation of the Justice Ministry, the newly-researched list will be forwarded to the appropriate committees of parliament, she said.
