Village residents located on shore of Lake Sarisu evacuated in Azerbaijan

Residents of villages located around the Lake Sarisu in the territory of Imishli, Sabirabad and Saatli regions of Azerbaijan were evacuated.

As a result of damage of the dam on the Lake Sarisu May 24, there was a threat of flooding of the riverside areas. Residents of villages of Gasimbeyli, Muradbeyli, Askerbeyli and Akhtach of the Sabirabad region; villages of Noruzlu, Deller, Narimankend and Musali of the Saatly region, as well as settlements of internally displaced persons were evacuated by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the relevant bodies, the Emergency Situations Ministry's website reported.
