Caucasian Muslims Board: Construction of Fatimeyi-Zehra mosque will be completed

The construction of “Fatimeyi-Zehra” mosque will be completed, spokesperson for the Caucasian Muslims Office Rahima Dadashova said. According to her, after the construction of “Fatimeyi-Zehra” mosque is completed, Akhund will be appointed to the mosque and it will start functioning. Rahima Dadashova said “Fatimeyi-Zehra” mosque will function as most of the praying places at the disposal of the Caucasian Muslims Board.

Head of “Fatimeyi-Zehra” religious community Tofig Rezizadeh said that it is normal that the mosque was put at the disposal of the Caucasian Muslims Board.

“The main issue was to prevent the demolition of the mosque. It is in the competence of the Caucasian Muslims Boardto appoint Akhund to the mosque,” he said.

Rezizadeh said the court proceeding on the demolition of the mosque will continue. “We will appeal to the plenary session of the court, after we get the decision of the Supreme Court,” he said.

Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh appealed to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in connection with the problem around the incomplete construction of “Fatimeyi-Zehra” mosque in Yeni Guneshli settlement of Baku. Taking into account current state-religion relations President Ilham Aliyev instructed to tranfer the mosque to the disposal of the Caucasian Muslims Board.

President also gave instructions to Baku Mayor to solve the problem.
