Baku - London flight postponed

The Baku-London flight was rescheduled due to closure of airports in the UK because of spread of new Icelandic volcanic ash clouds, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) reported. The flight, which was supposed to depart from Baku at 12:55 (Baku time) moved to 15:00, according to the company.

The flight will arrive in the destination in accordance with the schedule at 22:50 Baku time. Many airports in England and Ireland close down as the Icelandic ash drifts over the UK May 16. As dangerous ash clouds from an Icelandic volcano drift across Europe, authorities close down many airports in England and Northern Ireland.

London airports are open but the unrelenting clouds are threatening to move further south over the next 24 hours and could affect Gatwick and Heathrow. The volcanic ashes have yet to impose the closure of Dublin airport.
