
Azerbaijani Minister of Health Oqtay Shiraliyev visited Shirvan, where about 20,000 homes are trapped under water,more than 300 houses destroyed, 2,000 houses in unsafe condition as a result of a natural disaster.
"Villages, located on the banks of the Kura River are mainly resettled. The Ministry of Emergency Situations conducts much work. We have mobilized doctors to places of temporary accommodation of the population. There are no problems with medicine. Everything is done. There are ambulances. Doctors are on duty throught the day. There is no problem with health care," Shiraliyev said at a meeting chaired by President Ilham Aliyev.
The ministers also spoke about the work to be implemented after consequences of disaster are eliminated.
"After the flood, these areas should be disinfected. We must conduct much work to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. We have all the necessary tools. Upon completion of the current work, we will begin to implement the second phase of the measures," he said.
