Residents of two villages of Azerbaijan's region completely evacuated due to Kur River overflow

The population of Dadashbeyli and Chol Garaguney villages of Azerbaijan's Sabirabad region has been completely evacuated.
In total, the population of two villages composed of 4,000 dwellers. The appropriate equipment of the Ministry of Emergencies, the Ministry of Transport, AzerKorpu JSC operate at the disaster area. Levee consolidation works are currently in progress.

The evacuated residents are provided with necessary food and tents. Soldiers of Internal Troops and fast response regiment of police have been deployed in the disaster area.

Minbashi, Yakhadeəllek, Poladdogayi, Khankechen, Azadkend and Mugangenjeli, Garaguney, Garatogay, Gudsjuhur, Akhtachi, Hashimkhanli villages of Sabirabad region reportedly are partly are under the threat of flooding as well. Some dwellers of these villages – mostly women, children and old men are placed in the homes of their relatives living in other settlements.

The chairman of “Melioration and Water Management” Open Stock Company, Transport Ministry, Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry Ahmad Ahmadzadeh, Deputy Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov, Deputy Minister of Emergencies Etibar Mirzayev and other officials are at the site of occurrence.

On May 7, throughout the day the Minister for Emergencies Kamaladdin Heydarov was at the site as well.
