Azerbaijani First Lady's initiative envisages tours for winners of essays to Belgium - PHOTOS

Today, the awarding ceremony of the winners of the essay contest announced among schoolchildren on occasion of the 87-th anniversary of Azerbaijani National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held in the "Gulustan" Palace in Baku.

The organizers of the contest were the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the ruling party New Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Education, the Communications and IT Ministry and the Azerbaijani Confederation of Trade Unions.

Pupils of 7-11 forms of secondary schools submitted essays on "Thinking about leader Heydar Aliyev". About 96 pupils participated in the final stage of the contest. About 21 pupils won, five pupils ranked first, five - second, and 11 - third.

"The purpose of the competition is to increase youth's knowledge about the builder of independent Azerbaijan - Heydar Aliyev", Minister of Education Misir Mardanov said.

Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov said that all winners of the competition will travel to France, Belgium and Germany for one-week holiday with the support of these countries' funds.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation President Mehriban Aliyeva's initiative envisages tours for winners from different regions of the country to the Kingdom of Belgium. Pupils will be able to visit the Netherlands, France and Germany, learn life, historical and cultural monuments in these countries.

Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of New Azerbaijan Party, MP Ali Ahmadov noted that the ruling party will provide 12 winners with special grants.
