Azerbaijan will hold blood donation campaign on the day of occupation of the Shusha city.

A blood donation campaign will be held in Institute of Scientific and Technical Haematology on the day of occupation of the Shusha city May 8, upon the initiative of the Parliamentary Journalists Association and with the support of the Azerbaijani Red Crescent Society, Assotian Head Elshad Eyvazli said.
The Shusha city located in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan was occupied by Armenia on May 8, 1992. During the occupation of Shusha, hundreds of civilians were killed, about 60 civilians were taken hostage and hundreds went missing. There were women and children among the dead, wounded and hostages. Approximately 22,000 people became refugees. There were 248 historical monuments, 8 museums, an art gallery, a mausoleum, eight music schools and dozens of cultural objects in the occupied territories.
Eyvazli said they appealed to the deputies and the media of the country to participate in the action. "Today, there are people suffering from anemia in Azerbaijan. We believe this action will help in solving their problems. In addition, a rally on the day of occupation of Shusha is important. I am sure that the MPs and journalists will take an active part in this campaign," he added.
