
The Ministry of Communications & Information Technologies of
Azerbaijan has unveiled the results of monitoring conducted to study
tariffs for connection to Internet through ADSL technology in the
region.
The Ministry reports that average prices for Internet services in
Azerbaijan are equal with the relevant indicators observed in this
field in other countries of the region.
“In particular, following the research in Azerbaijan monthly cost of
unlimited Internet with speed 1 Mbps with connection to ADSL technology
ranges 20 up to 50 manats,” it was informed.
Bakinternet offers service package at 29 manats a month, Aztelekomnet
at 29 manats, Connect at 20 manats, Intrans at 94 manats, AzEuroTel at
32 manats, SuperOnline at 51 manats, Uninet at 25 manats.
“In Georgia cost of such package ranges 30 up to 100 manats; in Ukraine
50-110 manats; in Belarus 130-200 manats; in Moldova up to 20 manats;
in Russia up to 30 manats; in Kazakhstan connection to Internet with
speed 256/256 Kbps is 85 manats. In Armenia unlimited Internet with
speed of 1024/256 Kbps costs about 70 manats, in Kyrgyzstan price of
monthly unlimited package with speed 128/128 Kbps is around 60 manats.
The indicated tariffs were valid by 12 April 2010,” it was reported.
Over the last year tariffs for wideband access were cut five-fold. As a
result, quantity of high-speed Internet users doubled up to 80,000.
Country’s overall Internet traffic (channel volume) is 10 Gbps.
The MCIT intends to continue to monitor regularly in the field and publish monitoring results.
