Baku hosts World Customs Organization's regional workshop

Baku under the Japanese Customs Committee's donor support hosts a regional workshop of the World Customs Organization (WCO) on the basic rules of integration of a harmonized system.

The workshop is attended by representatives of the customs authorities of Turkey, Russia, Moldova, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Croatia, Albania, Georgia, Montenegro, Israel, Serbia, Poland, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Macedonia.

The workshop, which will continue for five days, will deliver lectures on the topics - the Harmonized System Convention, support for a Harmonized System, the committees associated with the Harmonized System, the WCO recommendations for clarification and introduction of Harmonized System in a single order.

The participants will get acquainted with the Central Laboratory of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee during the workshop.

According to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee head Aydin Aliyev, the Harmonized System is an important issue of the customs authorities of all countries to effectively conduct the customs statistics, declaration, collection of customs taxes and other issues.

"Important elements of the Harmonized System is the availability of customs legislation,the  material and technical base, as well as human capacity," Aliyev said.
