Azerbaijan's capital will host the freestyle, Greco-Roman and women European wrestling championship from Tuesday.

President of International Wrestling Federation Association (FILA) Raphael Martinetti, head of European Committee of Wrestling Associations (CELA) Tzeno Tzenov and first vice president of Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation Namig Aliyev held a press conference today
Aliyev said Azerbaijani wrestlers made great achievements on international level. "Our wrestlers garnered 9 medals in the last European championship. I hope we will repeat our successes in this championship," he added.
Martinetti and Tzenov praised the preparatory work for the tournament. On the first day of the championship Azerbaijan`s hopes will be pinned on Mahmud Magomedov weighing in at 55 kg, Jabrayil Hasanov at 66 kg, Sharif Sharifov at 84 kg and Ali Isayev at 120 kg.
The tournament will bring together nearly 450 wrestlers from 37 countries.
