09 April 2010 [16:13] - TODAY.AZ
Grants for scientific research in legal studies should be allocated in Azerbaijan, Head of Legislation and Legal Expertise Department of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Shahin Aliyev said at the International Conference on "Actual problems of legal state building, training of lawyers and of legal science in Azerbaijan."

"We need to encourage lawyers to conduct research. As in all other countries, in Azerbaijan also should be provided grants for this field, "Aliyev said.

He said first of all the private higher education institutions should be interested in the issue.

There are a sufficient number of private higher education institutions in the country and they can allocate grants to lawyers on certain topics in a practical direction of legal science.

"Private schools should be interested in providing these grants, as it will boost the prestige of these institutions and increase students' interest in these schools, as well as give impetus to the development of the Azerbaijani legal science," Aliyev said.
